Writing Effective Reports (advanced)

This course will perfect professional writing skills for delegates at advanced English levels and above. Key skills are taught through ten modules with delegates completing nine extended writing assignments relevant to their work.

Participants who complete this course will be able to:

  • Understand the key techniques for effective writing
  • Write with short clear sentences to ensure clarity of message
  • Improve their grammatical accuracy with an awareness of individual common errors to check for in proof reading
  • Create longer written reports with the correct structure
  • Develop key skills to summarise longer texts
  • Get detailed individualised feedback on nine work-related extended writing assignments
  • Be aware of their strengths and areas for improvement in writing

Course content:

  • Improving clarity: creating short sentences and developing summary skills
  • Improving accuracy: verb tense review, modern-day use of passive aspect
  • Report structure: executive summary, proofreading and editing techniques
